Courses and events
Things you need to know:
the course is open to anyone over the age of 10 years
all equipment is provided by the club
you will need to commit to 12 hours slots offered
course costs: £50 per adult and £30 per junior (under 18 years)
children under 16 years must be accompanied by a paying or non paying adult during the course
participants will receive a certificate of completion
shooting location at Brighouse Sports club
on completion of the course each participant will receive a certificate and the opportunity to join the club
most importantly, the club members are a very friendly welcoming and supportive bunch
Beginners course
Whether you’ve picked up a bow before or new to archery, you’ll find our beginners course fun and informative.
With each course you’ll undertake 12 hours of practical involvement carried out by a qualified coach. You will learn about archery equipment and associated resources including:
assembling and dissembling a bow
safety on the range and range set up
shooting techniques: correct stance, alignment and posture
different bow styles, techniques and types of archery
competitions, scoring and etiquette
advice on purchasing of equipment

Our next beginners course will take place on the following dates:
Sunday 28 March - 9am-12pm at Roberttown community centre
Saturday 18 April- 9am-12pm at Brighouse sports club
Saturday 25 April- 9am-12pm at Brighouse sports club
Saturday 2 May - 9am-12pm at Brighouse sports club

Events
‘Have a go’ events provide opportunities to come and try your hand at archery under the supervision of our experienced club members. These events are run at various locations during the summer months.
